to weave

to weave to gather is an initiative to celebrate our rich diversity and shared heritage. Through collaborative events, workshops and storytelling sessions, people build vibrant networks of relationships.

The project aims to weave friendships and traditions that enrich our community through cultural exchanges.   Our lives are interwoven within a larger living system.

Proposed at MPavilion 2 in Docklands, designed by Amanda Levete, this project serves as a canvas for community engagement. Through the contributions of local and international artists like Cassie Leatham, Donna Blackall, Reena Kallat, and Daniel Beeron, the pavilion will be a new experience for new and accidental audiences. The arrangement of the benches encourages conversation and a shared sense of togetherness.

The adaptable use and scale of the bench allows for various group and purposes, strengthening bonds within the diverse context of the City. It is a cross-cultural project that unites people through the art of weaving. It celebrates the techniques and materials of weaving and the act of weaving conversations.
